Our heroes stood, in the aftermath of their battle, wondering what leads they could draw from the foes they had dispatched. As they left the village and began discussing plans, Daisuki recalled a picture he had pulled out of the tight new tan pants he was now wearing, of the guy who had previously owned said pants. It was taken in an area of lush scenery, much more of a jungle area than Konoha. Thus it was Diego who determined that it must have been taken in Waterfall, and that it was best that they all run with the assumption that the entire team was from that village.

However, it was about at this point that the folly of their selection for the mission came to light. The mission in question had been to destroy a bridge, however, none of the genin in question were equipped with jutsu to do so. Diego pulled through, handing everyone a sheaf of exploding tags that he’d bought, “Just in case” they ran into ninjas instead of civilians, which he planned for well, it would seem. Also, in here at some point, the ninja all took off their headbands, and Diego did something with them. No one quite knows what.

Taking that in mind, they began discussing the upcoming fight. Kimiko brought up Daisuki’s issues with not wanting to harm Anazaki’s bass guitar, knowing that the guy obviously treasured it. Kimiko said she would be willing to trade places with him, and disable Zak while Daisuki kept Gabriel pre-occupied. Taiichi warned them about deviating from the plan, but no one seemed to care about Taiichi, or what he had to say. (Unsurprisingly, they still don’t) Sooner, rather than later, the four arrived at a large hill that overlooked the bridge.

Spotting the Sound nin, and taking in that every action they made now was likely being watched, Daisuki told Diego that the ninja “Weren’t expected” and began playing up the act. Daisuki then rushed down the hill to meet the ninja, followed closely by Diego and Kimiko, as Taiichi created a shadow clone up on the hill. Daisuki was halted by the Sound nin’s jounin, who asked him if he had any business across the bride. Daisuki promptly repiled that his business was actually underneath the bride. The Sound jounin looked amused, asking airily if this was really the case. Daisuki, being possessed of rapier wit, chided “No, not really. I just came rushing down that big hill towards the bridge with my sword drawn for no reason at all.”

Diego spoke up then, telling the Sound nin that he could go home, and no one would get hurt, or, that he and his team could do things the hard way. Taiichi’s shadow clone, which had come down to meet us, promptly stated that he wasn’t dressed for trouble, throwing just about everyone off, considering he hadn’t been addressed, and that Diego was talking to the sound jounin.

Either way, the sound genin began preparing themselves as the tension rose, and in a snap, Diego dove at the Sound nin, kunai in hand, and the fight was on. Daisuki rushed at Anazaki, lunging and weaving his sword to keep the boy on his defensive. However, with the strum of a hand across the neck of a bass, Daisuki was lifted and launched back a good thirty feet by Zak’s ninjutsu. Taiichi’s clone began to approach Harmony, as the real Taiichi snuck up behind her. She began singing, and disabled his clone, who began to hearken to her singing, and sat on the ground in front of her, with an ear tilted up, admiring her song.

Gabriel pulled out his microphone, and with some singing, crafted himself a suit of armor out of sound. He then conjured up a fist, and launched it at Kimiko. Seeing this, she began making a fake string of handseals, before locking her hands together in the bird formation, using one of her secret techniques, (The divine wind shield) and stopping sound from reaching the microphone in Gabriel’s hand. Feeling his armor vanish, Gabriel panicked, just as the fist he sent Kimiko’s way landed a solid punch to her face, knocking her over. However, she gritted her teeth and took the hit, keeping eye contact with Gabriel, and holding her handseal, drawing on the memory of Shinkei to help her stay strong.

All that could be seen of the Jounin was a flash of lightning underneath the bridge, as Daisuki rushed towards Anazaki again. However, as he’d seen Gabriel defenseless, he veered off, launching out to try to incapacitate Gabriel, and bring the fight to an advantage in their favour, quickly. Gabriel, not at all expecting this, dove wildly out of the way. Meanwhile, Taiichi sneaked even closer to Harmony, preparing himself, and spinning around, going to launch an elbow to the back of her head. At this point however, things just started to go wrong.

Anazaki, who’d been left without an opponent, panicked. Thus, he used his jutsu again, only on EVERYBODY. All of the genin, sans Zak himself, went flying, to varying degrees, depending on how they’d been standing. Kimiko and Gabriel took the worst of it, both of them being on the ground. Taiichi and Harmony also went flying, and Taiichi’s clone vanished. Daisuki hit the ground some distance off, and struggled to get back to his feet and face his opponents. Kimiko was the first up, however, and brought her hands together in the bird seal again, beginning to tune down Zak’s Bass, in order to cause chaos with his jutsu.

Harmony got up next, and seeing no Taiichi, she launched a genjutsu offensive a Daisuki, who suddenly began to hear a girl singing the melody of Serenade by Schubert, and found himself in the middle of a crowd, looking for a seat in a crowded theater. However, he was troubled as to why he was wielding a sword at a concert, and wasn’t sure why he was wearing what he was. Gabriel, getting back onto his feet, conjured another hand, and sent it rocketing towards Kimiko. Meanwhile, Kimiko was busying herself fiddling with the tuning knobs on Anazaki’s Bass, although, she was keeping an eye and an ear out for what as going on. Taiichi got back up, still cloaked, and launched an elbow at Harmony again, this time connecting solidly with the back of her head. Daisuki suddenly remembered why he had a sword on, as Harmony’s genjutsu failed. He was in the middle of a fight.

As Daisuki blinked, Kimiko was struck across the shoulder by Gabriel’s sound fist, not quite managing a full dodge, as she finished tuning down the third string on Zak’s guitar, without his notice. Then something truly odd, and completely unexpected happened. Zak played a chord, but he was surprised to hear that the notes weren’t what he’d expected. At the same time, Gabriel was directing his sound fist to turn in the air and come back to strike Kimiko again. However, as the sounds mingled, the hand began to twitch, and Taiichi could see something terrible happening.

The hand-entity was draining Gabriel’s chakra at an alarming rate, as he continued to sing, perplexed by the body of sound in the air. Daisuki, seizing his opportunity, rushed up and struck Zak in the back of the head with his sword, putting him out for the rest of the fight, if not longer. Kimiko and Taiichi were more valiant, rushing forward to attempt to grab the microphone out of Gabriel’s hands. However, as Taiichi was invisible still, the two ended up colliding, neither accomplishing their goal, as Gabriel managed to hold on to the mic.

Seeing the cause of it’s continued expansion, and watching it grow as Gabriel continued to sing, Daisuki knew the only solution. He rushed over to where Harmony had been incapacitated, and picked up her mic. He took a deep breath, and began to sing.

Daisuki began belting out that familiar hit single by Rick Astley, trying to defeat the bubble of sound with bad singing. However, as he did so, Gabriel began singing along, and totally ruined his plan. Taiichi got up, and directed Kimiko to get Daisuki to stop singing, while he himself walked over to gabriel, and took the mic out of his hands. He stopped singing and collapsed immediately. Also, Taiichi made a clone in the confusion here, somewhere, but no one quite recalls when.

Kimiko walked over to Daisuki and shouted at him to stop singing. When he didn’t, she flipped him to the ground, and grabbed the mic out of his hands. However, once she did, having shouted into the mic herself, she began singing along as well. Daisuki awoke from his trance, and yanked the mic out of her hands, plunging a kunai into it. That done, the body of sound stopped growing, and began to take shape, lacing itself together, and becoming almost solid in an odd way. It gained colour, and as its hair began to turn orange, Daisuki realized what he had done, as a Rick Astley with a sound village Hitai-ate faced the three of them, and continued singing the song.

The sound Astley walked over to Zak, and conjured spectral hands to lift his Bass guitar off of him. Daisuki launched out with a heavy slash from his rapier, that went straight through the sound man, not really harming him at all. Taiichi, being more creative, punched the microphone in his hands, making a loud sound, which seemed to get on Rick’s nerves. Rick began playing the Bass line to Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes, as Kimiko took out a senbon, and launched it straight through the top of the mic, creating a loud, screeching noise, that seemed to really hurt Astley. Seeing that bad noise really did hurt Rick, Daisuki took the now dead microphone out of Taiichi’s hands, and began singing Beautiful Oblivion by Eve 6, as a means to try to defeat the sound being.

Taiichi’s clone appeared, and together, the two of them ran to either side of Rick, and began shouting at the top of their lungs. Kimiko summoned a wing hand and sent it into Rick’s body, spreading all the sound waves asunder, and with a last “THIS ISN’T OVER” Sound Rick disappeared in an explosion of sound waves, sending Zak’s bass flying. It hit the ground and it’s top neck snapped off, while the bottom cracked.

No one paid much attention to this, though, as they all rushed to see what was happening to sensei. He was still locked in a fight with the sound Jounin, gaining no solid advantages as they duked it out with weapons. However, the Sound nin broke apart from Diego with a well placed attack, and made a water pillar, crashing it into Diego, and pinning him against the bridge, content to let him drown, it seemed. Kimiko took a page out of her notebook, and folded it into a paper crane, sending it off to hover over the Sound Jounin’s head.

The Sound nin, being distracted, didn’t notice Diego escape his jutsu, as Taiichi and Daisuki camped on the other side of the bridge. Daisuki was lining up his throwing knives to take a shot, before Taiichi told him not to worry, because Diego had this. Finding out too late what happened, the Sound nin was kicked into his own water spout, as two flashes of lightning followed, and the technique ended, the jounin floating down river.

The four then plastered the bridge with exploding tags in various places, and headed up to the opposite end from where they started, holding their hands together simultaneously in the tiger seal, and watching the bridge go up with a massive boom. Taiichi and clone turned to high-five each other, (The only High-five he’s ever gotten, consequently) before the clone disappeared. Daisuki smirked happily with his arms crossed, Diego fist-pumped, and Kimiko looked wholly unimpressed.

The group was then approached by a mysterious fellow known only as mask, who spirited them all away to “The Sanctuary”. Along the way, Taiichi sensed various people in the woods they walked into, some of them ninja. They were appearing to walk into a hill, which apparently was just an illusion, generated by the ninja there. They were handed headbands with what looked like a bunch of pin-pricks on them, to represent the people, apparently. Mask took one and pressed it against a tree, opening the way to the inside of the sanctuary. Inside, they found a bright and large underground complex. Mask led them to Lisa, the woman who essentially “Ran” The People, keeping track of everything and helping everyone. Mask said any questions should be directed towards her.

Shinkei and Kimiko stayed back to ask her questions, while Taiichi and Diego went to their rooms, escorted by Mask. Shinkei was told to go see Andrew, the Quartermaster, about his inquiry, while Kimiko was given a list of people to talk to, concerning books. Daisuki found Andrew inside a large warehouse full of boxes, the man’s peg leg clacking loudly off the floor. He asked if they had any pants or jeans in his size, and gladly traded the too-tight tan pants, for a pair of garish Hawaiian shorts that fit him perfectly.

He returned upstairs, and the group made plans for infiltration. They needed to scope out the place and find financial records to show who’d been funding The People, along with finding out who the leader of the group is, and discovering their whereabouts, in order to deal with them, in case they attempted to make an escape during the planned raid. The four agreed to split up, Diego going with Kimiko, and Taiichi going with Daisuki.

Kimiko and Diego launched off on a campaign based off of the list of people with books that she had been given, having inquired with Lisa as to whether there’d been a Library, which there hadn’t. (Ami, feel free to add more detail, as I wasn’t paying a whole lot of attention here, until you guys got to Vash)

Daisuki and Taiichi headed out to find Andrew, and search that area of the compound. Taiichi searched around whilst cloaked, and Daisuki gave Andrew a small donation to help out the group, whilst inquiring about the funding problems the place seemed to face. Finding nothing of much worth in the discussion, he waited outside for Taiichi to finish, who had been observing a strange opening in the compound that blended in with the wall. Once Taiichi came to meet Daisuki, He was then told to go see what Andrew up to, and if he was talking to anyone. Taiichi did as told and followed him around, while Daisuki went over to examine the supposed door. Following Andrew, Taiichi noticed that the quartermaster kept checking on the food crates. Noticing the pattern, and waiting for his opening, Taiichi investigated, rooting through the crates, and finding financial records. He was shocked to discover, however…

That the largest and most frequent donations made to “The People”, were made by Konoha.

Terror! Trouble in the Rice Fields
Every nation has its strife...some just choose to fight back!

Our heroes make their way to the Valley of the End, a place where Hashirama Senju fought against Madara Uchiha. Their conflict over the direction of the Hidden Leaf Village. Their fight, a testament to Konoha’s existence now and beyond. Diego had questioned the group about their knowledge of this particular local, but with the group being a rather mixed cell; only Kimiko could recite the history lesson. Praised for her book smarts, the sweet feeling would soon flutter as an unknown force was detected. Kimiko’s senses sharp, she detects a being using the Shunshin up ahead, atop Madara’s statue. Diego runs in to take a look utilizing his Shadow Clone Jutsu.

After a moment, Diego identifies the unknown person, explaining that they’re friendly. They happens to be a familiar cell of Sound Ninja. Enter Gabrielle, Harmony and Anazaki from the Chuunin Exams! They travelled all this way in hopes of intercepting Diego’s team. Why? Well it turns out the mission that Diego selected had changed parameters. Something Diego feared, for his panchant for picking “C” rank missions precedes him. The news updates the original info about a Terrorist Group causing havoc in Ricefields. The new information states that shinobi have intermingled with the ranks, making it more difficult to infiltrate the terrorist group and stop them. Their targets, whom were thought to be civilians, are actually rogue Shinobi.

Much to Daisuki’s anticipation, it means they can use lethal force if necessary in order to replace this group of ninja and destroy the bridge. Their plan is to stake out the village at the cusp of dawn, awaiting the rogue ninja whom they will ambush with an attack. As discussed on their journey, Diego asked if Kimiko could provide a distraction to help take out the enemy. With the new facts, Taiichi is tasked with detecting the group when they show up. Daisuki and Diego will act as the physical force, able to dispatch the group. With everything discussed through travel, the group wanders the Land of Rice Fields. They observe their surroundings, taking note of the terrain for strategic use (as well as a bit of tourisim).

Their travels lead them to the small village where they’ll make their stake out/ambush. Diego books an inn for the group. Everyone settles in early with Daisuki using up all the hot water for his bath, leaving Kimiko to have a cold shower. They awake early the next day and take up positions for their stake out. Daisuki hides himself within the fields, making great use of his stealth. Taiichi, Diego, and Kimiko are up on the rooftops, looking out at the entrance of the village. As per the idea of distraction and within the limited resources she had, Kimiko utilizes a clone to setup bait. Once the clone was dispatched or an action to flee or enter quietly was made, Daisuki would be able to launch his surprise attack. Yet this plan would be for nought.

Taiichi detects the party coming from a different direction. Thus Diego’s Cell relocated to where the group seems to be approaching. Yet they don’t come too close to the village, making their way just shy of the village (little more than ten meters, coming in from North West Side). As they enter Kimiko’s vision, she is able to hear their conversation and make out faint details about them. The conversation was about burning down the village as part of the Terriorist’s “cause”, an excuse to vandalize Ricefields country side. Though Kimiko doesn’t hear anything about burning the village, she noticed a boy step closer, performing handseals. The result of the handseal is clouds forming over the village. It will be impossible to ambush them if they keep their distance, thus Kimiko looks for a way to communicate what’s happening without giving away her position. Daisuki from his hiding position picks up on Kimiko’s signal that their attacking and readies his own assault.

The clouds overhead begin to drop rain…rain which actually turns into oil! Withdrawing an explosive tag, Kimiko quickly forms it into a paper airplane and guides it towards the group of rogue ninja. She detonates it above their group after trying her best to navigate the oil rain. This results in the group becoming aware but the other ninja whom also began to perform handseals, temporarily ceases her action. It provides an opening for Daisuki to attack the one trying to perform seals, though an older ninja whom appears to be the group’s sensei intervenes. Thus combat begins as the attack is blocked and the ninja whom attempts to form handseals does so in order to ignite the village in flames.

Our heroes are forced to make their way out of the village, with Taiichi confused as to why Kimiko had sent off the exploding tag. He makes his way invisible towards the two girls of the group. One of them has used a fire jutsu, while the other has used a seemingly invisible jutsu which further fueled the fire. His goal is to take them both down without having to kill them. Diego positions himself to better protect his genin as necessary, with Daisuki going after the boy whom is holding a handseal. Kimiko’s early drop on the group gives her a chance to target the boy first, revealing the sensei as protecting him and providing an opening for Daisuki to use.

Diego gets the drop on the rogue sensei engaging him in contact. Diego seems to have the upper hand in Taijutsu but his attempts keep failing. With Kimiko acting as his support, Daisuki makes a desperate leap, aiming to stab his Rapier through the boy’s heart. His stealth and speed successful, though he ignored an ember of flames creeping up his own pants to do so. It resulted in a successful stealth kill, but not without him discarding his pants. This revealed cute white boxers with hearts, but he’s far too focused on his task to care. Diego meanwhile continues his struggle with the sensei. Kimiko watches carefully, observing the fight. The continues screeching noise as Diego’s Kunai attacks connects, tips Kimiko off to the source of his problem: The opponent was using Advanced Earth Ninjutsu, specifically Metal Jutsu. Calling this out for Diego to hear, though he’s unable to take advantage right away as the Metal User lunges from the air attempting to crash down into Diego whom is on the ground.

However, Kimiko whom had been observing the fight didn’t stand around idly. She utilized her Divine Wind Hand in order to carefully tag the Metal User with an exploding pouch, having become weary as to why none of Diego’s blows were working. This little trap proves useful, as a portion of his black is blown out causing him to miss Diego completely. With the saving move, Diego gets into position and a flash of light emits from his form. Meanwhile Taiichi and Daisuki have their work cut out for them. Taiichi’s attempt to sneak up and pin the two kunoichi results in partial success. He is able to capture the girl with the unknown jutsu, keeping her pinned with Kunai to her neck. The fire user unfortunately escapes and is now in position to send a fireball at Taiichi. Taiichi attempts to duck down as best as he can, singed by the heat but avoiding the brunt.

Taiichi’s pin on the unknown jutsu user is weakened. She uses this moment to use her jutsu again, blowing out a stream of gas. Unable to avoid such an attack, Taiichi becomes high from the gas and simply can’t help but laugh, dropping all of his active techniques in the process. Daisuki meanwhile makes his entrance, aiming to stab the fire user. He is successful and has the girl pinned to the ground by his rapier. She looks up to him, looking to the face of her killer, before looking to his boxers with a smirk. She then dies, with Daisuki kicking her off the rapier. He now sets his sights on the gas using girl. She’s got Taiichi in a bad position but with agility and stealth, Daisuki aims to finish her before things get worse. His rapier thrusting towards her neck, she manages to become aware just in time to narrowly move.

Her neck is sliced at but not enough to be fatal. She clings to it, trying to keep the bleeding down as a follow-up attack is utilized. This misses and she manages to make some space, utilizing her jutsu once more to make Daisuki a victim of her gas. With both successfuly made high, the girl aims to finish our heroes. She withdraws an exploding tag and launches it at Taiichi and Daisuki. Before it can reach them Kimiko whom is no longer needed with Diego’s conflict rushes over, swiping the exploding tag from the air and placing it atop the girls face before she can ignite it. Of course this rogue kunoichi is rather aware of the reversal and doesn’t blow herself up. Instead she sees Kimiko and attempts to use her gas jutsu on her as well. Noticing that she’s going to exhale something, Kimiko suspected the girl as a fire user and attempts to coat her in the Divine Wind Shield. It turns out that she couldn’t quite see what was exhaled, but the invisible nature tips Kimiko off as a wind technique of some kind. Yet the true result of the jutsu is soon revealed for once the Divine Wind Shield finishes its protection, the rogue kunoichi is laughing crazily. She joins Daisuki and Taiichi and begins laughing with them.

Kimiko heads over to them and begins to disable the kunoichi. The smell of gas confirms her suspicions and allows her to focus on doing the task. Flipping over the rogue kunoichi, she holds her in a pin, only to get no proper reaction. Instead she decides to break her arm which nets a response, albeit not one that was made in conscious. Kimiko then proceeds to break the other arm but before she can completely disable it, the enemy kunoichi’s fingers curl, activating the tag on her head. Making a quick decision, Kimiko utilizes a throw she read about. Thanks to the appropriate conditions (ie a willing er unwilling target), Kimiko is able to pull off a text book throw, launching the gas user towards the village fire, where she explodes leaving a crater. Kimiko is then forced to listen to the high babbling of Taiichi and Daisuki before they come back to their senses. Diego soon joins them having dispatched his enemy. Sadly, they had killed off the cell and the village while no longer in flames is certainly damaged. What little fires are left will have to be used to destroy the bodies, so that they don’t leave any evidence for the Terrorist Group.

The Amalgamation of Cloud, Enter Daisuki!
The new team is formed...how will they fare?

Our session begins Taiichi and Kimiko splitting up for the day (well Taiichi left Kimiko anyway), after the yet unnamed Cloud ninja took off. Taiichi made sure to head home to sleep, one of his favourite activities. Kimiko decided to pick up several books from the library (Si-Fu Karate,Origami, and a book on training the mind and body) and figure out where Shinkei’s house is, in order to pay her respects to his family. After bonding a bit with Shinkei’s mom, she tries to open up to his sister Koharu. Sadly this results in failure but she leaves her a note indicating that Shinkei had something to tell her. After this, she says her goodbyes and the story picks up early the next day.

Kimiko awakens early, remembering that Shinkei usually did the morning run. Unfortunately she was too nervous to request Taiichi join her, thus time quickly passed until it was 5:30. Hotaru comes to see Kimiko and inform her of the town meeting. Meanwhile Taiichi is woken up from a wonderful dream. There were no ninjas, people didn’t notice him too much…life was good, except for Sanjo poking him. No matter what, the Sanin was a key part in his “life”. This caused his perfect dream to end, with the genin waking up to his master. He alerts him of the town hall meeting but the conversation changes to Taiichi’s supposed psychic prowress. Fascinated by this, Taiichi has to manipulate the situation to investigate the town hall when—- Diego visits Taiichi. He knocks on the window and Taiichi gets himself more awake and appearing decently enough. Hotaru and Kimiko leave fairly early to get there, whilst Diego takes the time to catch up with Taiichi. The realization that all that remains of his team is the former Iwa-genin, doesn’t bring down Diego; who instead tries to put up a brave face. Taiichi is equally as uncomfortable with that fact but he’s just happy that Diego is there. It is with this optimism that the two set out to the Town Hall Meeting.

It also occurs to Taiichi that staying with Diego keeps Sanjo away, at least in theory. Once the two sets of “teams” arrive, the announcement begins. The Hokage explains Cloud’s situation and the resolution to their problem. Cloud can no longer operate as a village, the civilians being wiped out and their numbers reduced has torn down the great nation’s military might. Thus what remains of Cloud becomes Konoha. In light of this, teams are reshuffled which causes many to be distressed. Enter Daisuki, late for the meeting and missing the speech. He comes in clapping and jovial. This causes Taiichi to start clapping and no sooner is everyone clapping. Well besides Kimiko who clings to Hotaru in fear of losing her. Those distressed about the team reshuffling were Cloud ninja, particularly a team of all cloud ninja. They look to Daisuki and question why he’s happy.

He responds that he missed the speech and seems content with this. The new teams would be displayed in an hour and everyone mingles in light of this. Well except for Daisuki whom tries to hide away from Leaf ninja and our heroes with their senseis. Taiichi spots Daisuki, recognizing him from the other day, but still doesn’t know his name. He realizes that he’s the source of the clapping though. Meanwhile Kimiko spots Tenma and decides to speak with him. She was concerned about how distressed he seemed to be at Shinkei’s funeral. However when she speaks to him, that distress isn’t even there. Instead he’s rather upset about something.

He brushes off Kimiko by insulting her (the worse of which was him saying that he wouldn’t come to Konoha Cafe). Though Kimiko continues to pry into his feelings, where he reveals the source of his anger is Tetsuya. Apparently he wasn’t at the funeral after all and that he’d seen Tetsuya that day. He hints at being attacked by him, though Kimiko kindly reminds him that Tetsuya isn’t in the village, along with Shinkei actually being dead. Still, having discerned that Tenma was his usual self, it’s only upon confirmation of Tetsuya having his red sword and his bird companion Tezuka(though Tezuka is not mentioned by name) that she thanks Tetsuya under her breath as she leaves Tenma. Like a good friend, he didn’t truly abandon Shinkei, especially at such a critical juncture.

Returning to Hotaru, the team rosters are revealed on white boards. Everyone’s name is displayed in Alphabetical order, displaying whom their teammate is beside their names (and the jounin if they have one). Taiichi is the first to look at the roster, finding Kimiko’s name before his own. He realizes that they are on the same team but he won’t be continuing on with Diego. This saddens Taiichi while Kimiko is happy to retain what little of her team she has. Daisuki eventually checks the roster and realizes he’s on a team with two “Leafies”, whom he describes rather distastefully.

To make matters worse, he sees the first mixed team, with a Cloud genin receiving a Konoha headband. This does not bode well with Daisuki and he contemplates what he’ll do when presented with such a thing. Thankfully he need not contemplate too long, for his team (31), is announced and when Kimiko, Taiichi and Hotaru take the stage, he realizes that they’re in fact the genin he met the other day. Not being pleased with this, he removes his hood and tries to keep a neutral expression as he steps up to the podium. The ANBU hands him a leaf headband and the contemplating resumes, though he does at least take the headband in his hand. He clenches it tight, seething as his pride is on the line. Wearing this headband represents him being a Konoha ninja, the very ninja who came into his village, interupted the genin festival/tournament and struck his pride. He contemplates throwing the headband into the air and skewering it with his rapier but has a look around.

His look around confirms that doing such would be a bad idea and so he walks off stage with Hotaru and the others. Once they’re off stage, he gives the headband back to Hotaru. He explains that he’s got a perfectly good headband which he earned; his Cloud headband. Hotaru being the strict teacher she is, squats down and explains to him that Cloud no longer exists, he is now a Konoha Shinobi from Cloud. This of course infuriates Daisuki further, as he insults Konoha. Yet the conversation doesn’t resume as Diego has already spoken with the Hokage. He comes along back close to the group, Hotaru gets up and heads over to speak with them.

They soon begin to argue, pointing to Taiichi and Kimiko respectively, neither really wants to abandon their only genin. As the arguments ensue between the Jounin, tension picks up amongst our heroes. Kimiko has become increasingly upset with Daisuki and his attitude towards Konoha and her sensei. She walks up to him, wanting to confront him but unable to find the right words to say. Instead she looks into his eyes, trying to understand him and how he feels. Taiichi himself also tries to break the ice, letting Daisuki know that he himself was an Iwa ninja before becoming a Konoha ninja.

Since Taiichi mentioned that he was left back during the war, Daisuki understands why he has no pride. Taiichi then asks about Tetsuya, which sparks something within the Kumo genin. As he rages further, uttering Tetsuya’s name, a familiar face comes by. Tenma, along with Aaron and Xiang Xiao arrive. Tenma shares Daisuki’s disdain for Tetsuya, introducing himself and explaining that he’s not a fan of 90% of the people present. Supposedly he’s trying not to catch the “idoicoy”. This angers Aaron who tries to warn Daisuki about Tenma’s ways, but it goes over head as Daisuki seems to get along with Tenma, shaking hands. Aaron gives up on the two, insisting their made for each other. Kimiko’s attention is split now, looking at Daisuki whom she’s upset with, greeting Aaron and Tenma with a wave, followed by Hotaru and Diego’s argument heating up. Taiichi too realizes this and turns to watch. Kimiko sees them arguing and takes a guess that it’s probably about them. She suggests to Taiichi that they should try to stop them.

Taiichi whom fears authority, doesn’t feel confident in confronting either master and thus tries to hold Kimiko back. The momentary distraction causes her attention to shift back to the group. This allows her to take note of Xiang Xiao glaring at her. She follows her eyes, taking note of Taiichi’s hand on her shoulder. She quickly realizes why the girl is upset. Thus she requests that Taiichi remove his hand and takes a step away from him. Taiichi of course only sees Kimiko waving her hand and is puzzled by this. Not that he has much time to contemplate as Genbu, Tenbu, and Zenbu join the gathering. They note that Diego is now their sensei and the mingling continues. Daisuki questions if the trio are brothers, to which they reveal their charm of…speaking rather in turn. No the trio aren’t brothers but they certainly seem that way. While this happens, the bickering Jounins get a bit loud, with Hotaru slapping Diego across the face. Kimiko trying to slip away from the group to stop the two jounin, hears this and turns to see them. Yet once everyone else turns to face the jounin, they see them making out suddenly.

Everyone is in shock at the display, Kimiko freezing up, Daisuki looking offended and surprised, and Taiichi taken aback. Eventually the two part ways flickering off for fifteen minutes, as does Tenma’s team. Kimiko waves bye to Tenma and Aaron. Daisuki sees Tenma leaving and they share their enthusiasm to pay back Tetsuya one last time. The trio properly greet the group now and continue to discuss. No sooner do they see Diego return. Diego seems rather triumphant, he announces that the teams were changed again. He is now the sensei of Team 31, much to Taiichi’s happiness and Kimiko’s dismay. Kimiko’s dismay is shared by Genbu, Tenbu, and Zenbu, whom ask about Hotaru as a teacher to the group. Kimiko has nothing but praise and warns them about studying properly. Taiichi alerts them to be careful and to follow instructions.

Hotaru soon returns and instructs the trio that they’ll be meeting at the library. Kimiko feels rather heartbroken by this, whilst Daisuki doesn’t care too much. Somewhat relieved that he no longer has to deal with the jounin himself. Kimiko tries to cling to Hotaru for as long as she can, the jounin trying to raise her spirits about the situation. After one last hug and promising to spend time with Kimiko, Hotaru leaves with her new team in-tow. This leaves Team 31 to pick a meeting place. Taiichi explains where they met up with Hotaru and eventually picks out a new spot for them to meet. Once ready, they move out with Kimiko lagging behind a bit as she watches the spot where Hotaru had left.

At the new meeting spot, the team does introductions once more. Daisuki is asked to start; requiring that he state his name, strengths, and weaknesses. He does so, explaining that his strength is being a ninja, his weakness his not being that good at ninja things (Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and hand to hand). Next up is Kimiko whom appologizes first (for being down and not really saying much to Diego earlier). She explains that she’s good at Ninjutsu, chakra control and Wind Elment manipulation. Her weakness is her physical prowress and lack of Taijutsu in general. Last but certainly not least is Taiichi, whom explains his strengths of Invisibility and Sensory Chakra. His weakness being a bit of everything else. As he does so, he makes sure ot promptly thank Diego for his strengths to which Daisuki notes he’s a suck up and Kimiko, though quiet seems to agree with his notion.

Regardless, with introductions out of the way, Diego feels its time for a mission. He’s already picked one out, which Daisuki pegs him using the Shadow Clone to do so (as a guess). Diego doesn’t seem to deny such and thus explains the basis of the mission. The group will take thirty minutes to prepare equipment before departing to Rice Field Country. As they do so, they begin to discuss strategy and choose a formation (Diego leads, Kimiko behind, Taiichi behind her, and Daisuki taking the rear). They also begin to bond as they travel, Daisuki seemingly is getting along with Diego sensei. He asks key questions concerning the mission such as info on their targets, the objective and how they’ll take to combat. The group is tasked with blowing up a bridge in order to infiltrate a terrorist group. To do so, they must incapacitate four civilians whom are being recruited into the group. They call themselves “The People” for they feel that the nation is wasting resources on Otogakure, instead of fueling the economoy. They’ve already destroyed two banks and now they want to take out this bridge. Diego makes it clear that they must not harm the recruited civilians and they’ve got to blow the bridge up without civilian casualities.

It is this discussuion which causes Kimiko to speak up. She explains her jutsu aren’t suited to such an operation and she lacks the physical prowress to incapacitate as well. Diego questions Daisuki on his own strength, (which is barely stronger than Kimikos) illustrating that it’s not just about strength. This makes her curious as she pulls out the book on Si-Fu Karate to read through, looking for maneuvers to take down the enemy without killing them. Their journey continues, with Diego whistling happily, to which Daisuki insists that he’s stealing his shtick. Appologizing for such, he says he’ll “ask permission to whistle next time”, which Daisuki makes sure to keep him accountable to. Attempting to get used to her new jounin, Kimiko feels brave enough to ask him about what they saw earlier, the makeout session. In particular, she asks if Diego likes Hotaru. He responds with a yes, citing his respect for her skills and teaching. Though Kimiko soon clarifies if he likes her romantically, as in love. He promptly says no, which causes Kimiko to remain quiet thereafter, thus continuing their journey to the Land of Ricefields.

Muramasa Shinkei's Funeral
These guys really are disposable =\

Our heroes returned from grass, their travel a somber walk. Victory was snatched but not without losses. Victory at a price, one that was rather hard to bare for Kimiko. Taiichi too was saddened, having lost another friend. Konoha’s initial reaction to the news was actually off-putting, though when the loss of a comrade was revealed, the village was in unison. They would have Muramasa Shinkei’s funeral the next day.

Upon arrival in Konoha, Kimiko sought to visit Shinkei’s family and asked for Taiichi to guide her there. Taiichi refused, stating that the family should have more time. The shock of Taiichi’s actions was rather off-putting to Kimiko. Wouldn’t a friend and teammate be the better person to tell them the news? Needless to say, they’d part in silence, Hotaru instructing Kimiko not to do any work or training for awhile.

Taiichi would return home to see his place seemingly broken into. Of course, this was his rather insane Master’s work (and Taiichi wasn’t surprised). Master Sanjo would ask him for a moment, before having the place nice and clean, perhaps cleaner than Taiichi left it. Taiichi then attempt to have a heartfelt discussion with his master…which didn’t turn out well at all. Yet admist the craziness, Taiichi was able to glean a message.

He also realized that he hadn’t introduced his Master to his new teammate (he also wanted to make sure she hadn’t gone to visit Shinkei’s family). Sure enough, Kimiko was at home as instructed by Hotaru sensei. Though bringing Sanjo to Konoha’s cafe resulted in quite the scene. Hosuke tried his best to meet Sanjo’s wild expectations, seemingly rather confused about the man’s desire for a Birthday cake and instance on it being sold at the Cafe. To make matters worse, after Taiichi checked on Kimiko…he hadn’t quite described his relationship to Sanjo. This resulted in Kimiko mistaking Sanjo for Taiichi’s father.

Crazy as he is, Sanjo briefly thought that Hosuke was Taiichi’s father and there leaving would blacklist Taiichi from these fortunes. Ever one to make an exeunt, Sanjo leaves through the window while Kimiko and Taiichi go through the door. Though of course, Kimiko tries to stop him from leaving through the window, only to fail. She at least brings the result of Hosuke and Sanjo’s argument; an origami Birthday Cake. It’s made up of a single menu from Konoha Cafe.
Kimiko attempted to wrap her brain around the art, even trying to dismantle it. Though before Kimiko can proceed, Taiichi takes it away, insisting it’s a normal Origami Birthday cake, just like her leg and cast were normal. Having lots of trust in Taiichi, Kimiko agrees and allows the two to eventually be on their way (though not after Sanjo further bringing down Kimiko’s mood concerning Shinkei’s demise and increasing her paranoia about Taiichi abandoning her also.

The next day is Muramasa Shinkei’s funeral. Kimiko arrives rather early, seeing that many people hadn’t gathered for the genin’s funeral. This made her rather depressed, having taken a seat up-front and lost in her own thoughts. However, closer to the start time of the funeral; more and more people show up. It results in a full showing, with people even forced to stand. Shinkei’s girlfriend attends the funeral as well, though not arriving in time to get a seat. Funny enough, Tenma too is at this funeral and seeing Tenma, Kimiko is reminded of the previous funeral for someone from their year. The Hokage eventually makes a heartfelt speech about Muramasa Shinkei and his brave sacrifice for the village. It was important to note that life isn’t measured by ones death, but by what they do with their life.

After the speech, everyone pays their respect by heading up to Shinkei’s gravestone. Kimiko is so overwhelmed with emotions that she can only appologize for letting her teammate down. Yet the sign of the sky slowly clearing is comforting to her, she eventually waits by the exit of the mountain, speaking to Shinkei not unlike she would her mother, giving him a much better goodbye. Taiichi sends his teammate off by doing a customary prayer seen in Iwa. Tenma is seen in an actually sad state, touching the tombstone far longer than anyone would expect. He then leaves in a hurry, which was rather odd. Kimiko notices his rush but thinks better of calling him out.

Taiichi waits around, hoping Tetsuya doesn’t show up (because it’s something he’d totally do). With no sign of the Missing Ninja, the last person to pay respects is the Hokage. Kimiko waits for Taiichi an eventually they head off. There’s not much for them to do but return home. For Taiichi, he chooses to get some well neeed rest and relaxation. Sleeping in for a very long time. He wakes up at 12:00pm, rather glad he was able to get good rest and not be awoken in the morning. He goes about his routine, taking note that there’s no milk. Sanjo seemingly took some and left some new milk outside. Taiichi brings said milk back inside and into the fridge. Since the milk is warm, it has upset his morning routine and he decides to eat out.

Much to his surprise, Konoha is bursting with life today. There seemed to be far more people than usual. Thus all the restaurants and cafes are full. Taiichi does his best to keep an eye out for a spot that’s just about clearing up and stumbles upon Konoha Cafe. Meanwhile Kimiko awakes rather late herself, waking up at 1pm. She slept terrible the night before, mostly in regret and nightmares and has completely ruined her morning routine. The tea her father left out for her has gone cold, but she appreciates the offer and drinks it all the same. Once she’s presentable (she’d looked like quite the mess from the tossing, turning, and crying), she’d head down to the store and greet her father. To her surprise business is really good today she asks about the newfound intake. The duo spot Taiichi sneaking in and they both have lunch together.

The early bird truly does get the worm and our heroes missed out, leaving them confused and having to play catch up. As it turns out the village received a new-intake of people. Minami Hosuke provides insight into the amount of people and why; Cloud ninja had come to Konoha. This sparks Taiichi to want to look for his former Jounin and with nigh a word to Kimiko, he leaves. Kimiko being rather confused by this but wanting to learn more, follows along quietly. Taiichi leads the duo to the Hokage tower, where he asks about Master Diego. Kimiko gleams that he must have been a former teacher of sorts, possibly his former jounin leader (but it’s just a guess on her part). With news that he was indeed there, Taiichi seems much happier and once again heads off with nigh a word.

Back in the streets they hear word of a familiar ninja: Tetsuya. Supposedly, someone is looking for him and mention of his name makes Kimiko worried, though Taiichi doesn’t seem to be alarmed in the least. Listening into the conversation, the person asking for Tetsuya is unaware that he’s no longer a Konoha Ninja. It is clear that the person is disappointed and the duo gets a look at the party having the discussion. It’s Tenbu, Genbu, Zenbu, speaking with someone they didn’t recognize. Kimiko asks Taiichi if they should leave, in order to protect Tetsuya’s whereabouts, though he seems confused as to why they should. Kimiko explains her feelings of the inquiry being bad but they no sooner here that it’s not a bad inquiry.

Thus they decide it okay to approach but Taiichi is distracted by a young couple and loses sight of the rogue-ish fellow. Kimiko being at a different position, doesn’t lose sight of the young man and approaches him. She questions why he’s looking for Tetsuya and explains that she and her teammates can’t really help much with his inquiry. Taiichi soon joins Kimiko’s side as the terrible trio exeunt due to a meeting. Before the two can get more answers from what they gather is a Cloud ninja, said Cloud ninja takes off down the alley. Taiichi choses not to concern himself with the ninja who had issues with his former teammate. Instead, he decides to go home and take a nap.

His nonchalant demeanor confuses Kimiko, especially since he left without saying goodbye. It causes Kimiko to think about what the boy’s master proclaimed earlier; that she wasn’t good enough to be with Taiichi as a teammate. With such paranoia and depression building, she heads for the library in search of some answers.

Scroll Retreival Part IV

Having toppled the massive ninja who had relentlessly tracked them to the outskirts of an Ame forest, the party, under the new leadership of Shinkei, set off in search of Jordan, the remaining ninja opponent, and the scroll.

As deliberation ensued, the party fell under brief argument about what to do. Calculating the effects of the soldier pills given to them by Tetsuya, the group came to a decision. Taiichi and Kimiko rested behind at the spot where they’d last seen evidence of Jordan, and Kaito and Shinkei left in search of a trail.

Eventualy, Shinkei and Kaito came across a few small snapped branches that signified someone had been there. They also spotted what appeared to be a fragment of Jordan’s cloak. Following this lead, they found several other pieces of Jordan’s cloak, and followed the trail to the edge of the woods. Meanwhile, Taiichi and Kimiko deliberated as to what was going on. Kimiko found herself a bow and some arrows, and Taiichi rested, up until the point where the two headed off to catch up with the other half of the party.

They eventually converged at the same point, at the forest’s edge, where Taiichi used his sensor technique, and scoped out the broad field before them, finding yet another piece of Jordan’s cloak hidden in the grass. He and Kimiko followed this new trail, which led to a nearby village, while Shinkei and Kaito rested.

Taiichi took the opportunity to scout out the village in an attempt to find the ninja and Jordan, in which he was successful. He returned to Kimiko, and explained the situation, just as Shinkei and Kaito arrived. This in mind, Shinkei was briefed, and came up with a plan. Kaito was to flank the foe from in front while Shinkei and Kimiko sprung a trap and attacked from the rear. Taiichi was to sneak in while invisible, and steal the scroll, and also make a shadow clone with a fake scroll to distract the opponent. The idea was to perform a trap hit and run operation. Minimal losses, but gaining the scroll in return.

However, as they reached the other side of town to begin to set up, they found out their mark had already left, and was a good 40 minutes in running time ahead of them. Shinkei ordered the team to follow the plan, modified in the form of a frontal assault. The attack would be triggered by his signal, the strike of a lightning bolt.

Kaito sneaked past the foe admirably, while Taiichi cloaked himself and approached from behind. Shinkei closed quickly, while Kimiko stayed a distance back, and transformed herself into the image of a foe whom they’d defeated earlier. Shinkei launched the signal, however, their foe was wary, and as the lightning bolt Shinkei had formed was about to strike him, he took Jordan and manhandled him bodily in front of him, in order to take the blow.

The foe wheeled upon Shinkei, who began forming a javelin and closing the distance between them, as Kaito sprinted in from behind and kneed him in the back. The foe was winded, and Kaito took that opportunity to use his shoulders as leverage to flip himself right up and over the guy, and deliver an axe kick to his face. Taiichi snuck up behind and waited for his opening, while Kimiko fired off an arrow from behind, which narrowly missed Shinkei’s ear. The opponent, seeing that he had help, began forming Handseals. Shinkei lobbed his lightning Javelin at him, just in time for a tree to reach up out of the ground, and block the bolt.

Kaito attempted to launch another attack, but was manhandled by a root from the tree that reached out, and struck him bodily, so much more a massive fist than the tree trunk that it was. Shinkei focused on his defensive line of sight and began approaching the foe on the other side of the tree, while Kimiko lined up a senbon, and guided it right around to strike into the ninja’s knee. Despite this, the Mokuton using foe began scaling the tree, lleaving Jordan and the scroll both open. Taiichi seized the opportunity, and stole the scroll, feeling its effects make him sluggish, before he ran off for a secluded tree elsewhere, and made a clone of himself, also holding a clone scroll, who used the invisibility jutsu, and began returning to the area of conflict. Kaito attempted to launch another attack, but was pummeled to the ground by another tree-trunk. He struggled to get free, but with a burst of chakra, he began to glow green, and he smashed the trunk to bits.

Kimiko hid in a tree nearby, the ninja in question all hidden from her view. Meanwhile, Shinkei made his way around the tree and began scaling it, before seeing a blur whip by him. As it did so, he noticed the foe putting his hands together, and sinking into the trunk of the tree. Just as his face melded with the wood, Kaito smashed a hole through where the mokuton user had been moments before. Seeing his foe not there, and obviously being enraged, he asked Shinkei where the opponent had gone. Shinkei had no idea.

Elsewhere, Kimiko, still disguised, was greeted by their foe, as he appeared out of the tree trunk to greet her. He asked why she had failed to kill any of the Genin, and they continued on in small conversation, Kimiko doing her best to act as she thought this ninja did, before their foe asked her a question meant to test her identity. She failed, and he launched an attack at her, which she promptly dived out of the way of.

Meanwhile, as Clone-Taiichi sensed around, he noticed a huge network of chakra under the ground, connecting all the trees in the area together. As he noticed this, he saw the chakra of one tree turning volatile, and as it did, he recognized a technique he had seen before coming into fruition. The clone shouted “SENBON TRAP!”, and Shinkei dived for the ground off of the tree, for fear of being pierced by wooden senbon. Kaito however, zipped down to the base of the tree, and with a massive kick, toppled it over, so that the senbon wouldn’t explode parallel to anyone. He then ran down to find Jordan and cover him. Taiichi’s clone did much the same. Kimiko called up her wind shield around herself.

And with an earth rending explosion, earth senbon devastated the field. Shinkei, who had been unaware of the element of the technique, had jumped to his own demise, his back riddled with the earthen needles. Kaito, not aware of the strength of the technique, sacrificed himself to protect Jordan, he himself being filled with earth senbon. As the dust settled, the Mokuton user lauded over the devastation he was sure he had caused to the party. So cocky was he, that he didn’t even notice the senbon that pierced through the back of his head and through his throat, until he was falling out of the tree he’d stood in.

Kimiko approached him as blood poured out of his wound, but he wore a maniacal smile on his face, as he brought his hands together in an attempt to kill everyone. Kimiko silenced his attempts with a senbon through his eye. Taiichi, meanwhile, had been making his way slowly but surely to the rendezvous point. He didn’t know what had happened, but as Kimiko found her way over to the remnants of the explosion, she found the body of Kaito laying over that of Jordan. She checked for a pulse on Kaito. There was none.

Unnerved at the sight of one of her comrades having perished, she held Kaito tight, crying for what must have been half an hour, until she could cry no more. She calmed down, and helped Jordan to a sitting position, where he could breathe easier, before going to find Shinkei. Her luck with him was no better than with Kaito. Taiichi wasn’t sure what was happening, he was just following orders. So, when he heard Kimiko scream, he didn’t know if it was because she was dying, or because she had found someone dead. He continued on, headed for the meeting place Shinkei had assigned them, hoping everyone was alright.

Hours later, just before Taiichi gave up hope on any survivors, the figure of two people approached the meeting spot. It was Kimiko, whom was carrying Jordan, which brought some relief to Taiichi. He asked about the others whom he’d soon find out were dead. After being briefed, Kimiko went to get some medical supplies to patch up Jordan. Exchanging the set of arrows for the supplies (more so from the pitty of the villagers). Eventually the two genin would take the scroll and their unconscious leader away from the meeting grounds. With the effects of the scroll draining their chakra, they devised a clever carrying system to transport the scroll and the unconscious genin to safety.

Eventually Jordan would wake up an be briefed about what happened. Disheartened by the news but relieved the mission was complete, the three would journey back to grass to report on the mission. The Hokage was not pleased that they gave a teammate to a Missing Ninja, but otherwise seemed happy that the mission was successful. Though the final ruling on the mission had yet to be determined, tune in to the next session to find out what happens next!

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
